Almost everybody cooks with wine, brandy, cognac, and some other spirits...
Well, I have gone a step ahead and used the most unexpected...VODKA...
THE MOST FORGIVING AND RECOGNIZED LIQUOR that has no frontiers. Yes you can freeze it, chill it, and mix it with anything you can imagine. You can also shake it, stir it or simply drink it straight, or COOK IF YOU WISH.
To me VODKA is a way of living. That's why this winter I decided to celebrate the Toronto WinterCity festival with my special event: Vodkalicious. It's available from January 14/2010 until February 14/2010 at the Samovar Room.
Celebrating a culinary experience with the essence of vodka.

SAMOVAR ROOM
51A Winchester St.
"A samovar is a metal urn used by Russians for boiling water to make hot tea. I’m not really sure what this has to do with a swanky vodka lounge (besides the Russian part) but Samovar Room definitely fits with the "hot" theme. It’s dark and cozy with deep red accents, and there’s plenty of vodka, champagne, caviar and even absinthe to warm the gut. Slick fireplaces line the walls, and weekend DJ nights bring a King West party vibe to the otherwise quaint Cabbagetown ’hood.
TIP: Samovar’s a sibling of fellow local vodka bars Rasputin and Pravda, so fans of the other spots can expect a similar sampling from the menu."
